The North Metro Basketball League (NMBL) is an In-House League serving North Metro Community Basketball associations (Mounds View Basketball Association, Irondale Basketball Association, Roseville Basketball Association, St Anthony Basketball Association). The NMBL In-House Basketball Program provides organized basketball opportunities for Boys & Girls Grades 3-8. In-House Basketball is less competitive with a smaller level of time commitment than Traveling Basketball.
The In-House program is designed to offer a more competitive environment for 3rd through 8th grade boys & girls to play basketball. The purpose of the program is to advance the players’ basketball skills and team play. Boys and girls teams play separately and are organized in three age divisions: 3rd-4th graders, 5th-6th graders, 7th-8th graders.
Teams consist of 8-10 players and are organized by height, geographical location/school affiliation, teammate requests and player skill level.
All teammate requests require a ‘matched request’ on the registration forms. For example, if player A wants to be a teammate of player B, player A must request player B AND player B must request player A on their respective registration forms. Parents, please plan accordingly prior to filling out the registration forms. This NMBL policy simplifies the formation of equally matched teams and allows all players to have the opportunity to play with their friends.
Coaches are expected to strive for equal playing time in all in-house programs as much as possible. The season consists of one practice and one game per week except during holidays and during NMBL tournament weekends when gyms are not available.
