Mounds View Basketball

The 7B boys travelled to Monticello and finished their fine season with runnersup medals in the 7BB bracket. We played host Monticello in the opener and trounced them 45-13. Our second game in pool play saw us play the 25-3 Princeton Tigers and their big 6'4" center and awesome  forward. It was close all the way and we were able to hang on 53-49 as the big man fouled out with a few minutes left. Sundays early morning game vs. Chaska was do or die as the loser goes home. We had lost to them earlier this year by 3. But the Mustangs were not to be denied as we got into the bonus free throw penalty early in the second half and defeated the Hawks 47-38. Next in line for us was the Becker Bulldogs in the semifinals. We got off to a good start and contolled this game  all the way through winning 42-21. The championship was a bit different for us as we got off to an extremely slow start and was chasing the 35-1 Shakopee team all game long losing 64-54. Ryan Kacynski led us with 94 points in the 5 games including a very impressive 22-27 on the free throw line. Jeremiah Bonde blazed the nets from downtown making 10 (3) pointers in the 5 games. It was a complete team effort as this magical season saw us have a 32-7 record with receiving 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finishes in all 11 tournaments. Thanks to the parents, players and fans for making this happen and putting up with the crazy lunatic on the sideline. Have a great summer.
