In-House: Boys & Girls, Grades 3-8

Little Mustangs / In House Master Game Schedule (Starting January 16, 2021)

Below is the current final schedule for the season through Feb 27.

As always - this official schedule weekly as we continue to make adjustments based on District gym availability. The MV District is not allowing spectators at this time, but each team may have 3 coaches and a parent to video or livestream the games.

In some instances we scheduled back to back games so teams did not have to leave the school and wait in their cars between games.  We also scheduled an additional 15 minutes between games this year to allow for extra cleaning and rest for those teams.

North Metro "In-House" Basketball League (NMBL)

The North Metro Basketball League (NMBL) is an In-House League serving North Metro Community Basketball associations (Mounds View Basketball Association, Irondale Basketball Association, Roseville Basketball Association, St Anthony Basketball Association). The NMBL In-House Basketball Program provides organized basketball opportunities for Boys & Girls Grades 3-8. In-House Basketball is less competitive with a smaller level of time commitment than Traveling Basketball.

The In-House program is designed to offer a more competitive environment for 3rd through 8th grade boys & girls to play basketball. The purpose of the program is to advance the players’ basketball skills and team play. Boys and girls teams play separately and are organized in three age divisions: 3rd-4th graders, 5th-6th graders, 7th-8th graders.

Teams consist of 8-10 players and are organized by height, geographical location/school affiliation, teammate requests and player skill level.

Teammate Requests

All teammate requests require a ‘matched request’ on the registration forms. For example, if player A wants to be a teammate of player B, player A must request player B AND player B must request player A on their respective registration forms. Parents, please plan accordingly prior to filling out the registration forms. This NMBL policy simplifies the formation of equally matched teams and allows all players to have the opportunity to play with their friends.

Here are the In-House Program Details:
  • Games are five-on-five with eight (5-Minute) running time periods.
  • Basket height is 9 feet for 3rd and 4th graders and the basketball size is 27.5 inches.
  • Basket height is 10 feet for 5th-8th grade and the basketball size is 28.5 inches for 5th and 6th grade boys and all girls. Boys in 7th and 8th grade use a standard size 29.5 inch ball.
  • Game scores are recorded and league standings are reported.

Coaches are expected to strive for equal playing time in all in-house programs as much as possible. The season consists of one practice and one game per week except during holidays and during NMBL tournament weekends when gyms are not available.
